I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavor.
-Henry David Thoreau

motivation

Motivational Messages Inspirational stories, positive resources, links and of course a motivational daily quote.

Senior motivations Seniors Aging Well, Wisely and Successfully. Stories and help for aging gracefully and happily.

positive attitude Nice short article on the value of a positive attitude.

daily wordA great way to start the day. Non-denominational message for each day. (I now go to Unity Church, and was amazed when I found out the little book I had read since I was young, was the same that the Unity Organization published. Neat how things work sometimes...)

daily zen A different Zen message daily, but don't forget to enter the main site. There is a daily global compassion message and my favorite feature is "the Meditation Hall". Take a minute to clear your head, and enter a "meditative cyberspace" where you will be sharing silent meditation with others all over the world.

steven covey "Dependent people need others to get what they want. Independent people can get what they want through their own efforts. Interdependent people combine their own efforts with the efforts of others to achieve their greatest success."--Stephen Covey is the business guru and time management specialist who brought us the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and First Things First.

Powers of Ten You have to see it to believe it. Interactive Website from a film made in 1977. " The Powers of Ten also represents a way of thinking – of seeing the interrelatedness of all things in our universe. It is about math, science and physics, about art, music and literature. It is about how we live, how scale operates in our lives and how seeing and understanding our world from the next largest or next smallest vantage point broadens our perspective and deepens our understanding.

ababasoft Puzzles for self-growth. Creative games and puzzles, intelligence training. Mind expanding.

I should be working Had a long day at the office, need a break, then take it here. Even has a countdown clock to the weekend. Dedicated to slackers, long-lunchers and the web addict. Have fun....

God's answering machine We have all learned to live with answering machines as a necessary part of modernization. But I have often wondered, what if God decided to install an automated answering machine?

Heaven and Hell

You see there were these two guys who got together. One of them was from Hell and one of them was from Heaven. They decided to compare notes on their experiences. So the man from Heaven ask the man from Hell what's it like down there.

The man from hell begins by saying, "we work hard all day and after a day of work we are so hungry so we are seated before a very big table filled with all kinds of wonderful food. The devil comes in and says that you can eat as much as you want, gorge yourself and enjoy, however you must use a fork to eat your food with."  "The problem with that is the fork is 3 feet long and there is just no way we can get it to work. We are in agony all the time because we can't eat."

The man from Heaven begins by saying, "We have the same thing in heaven." "A huge table is set before us and the forks are also 3 feet long".

The man from hell says, " I thought Heaven was supposed to be a paradise. God seems just as cruel as the devil."

"But you just don't get it," the man from heaven says, "we feed each other."
